Italy fought on the side of the Allies in World War I. In the secret Treaty of London, Britain promised Italy that it would gain the territory in light green on the map below. Italy joined the war and 500,000 Italians lost their lives.

This second map shows Southern Europe after the Treaty of Versailles ended World War I. Did the Allies keep their promises? How would this make the Italian people feel?
